New in 2018 were micro-events within the larger Christian Investment Summit.  Thanks to the support of our hosting Partners, small groups of Summit attendees participated in one of six different excursions into the city of Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains that surround it.  The environment, landscape, and culture of this region steep into the experience of attending the Summit at the Billy Graham Training Center.  Through these excursions, we hope to more directly help you experience what is a world renowned travel destination.

The goal for these was to create and deepen relationships within those participating in the Summit through a more relaxed and extended time together.  Each of the excursions was planned and curated by our host Partners to help connect money and investing to the other integrated parts of our lives to show how we can flourish in all of them.

Attendee satisfaction with Explore Asheville was exceptionally positive, and Partners unanimously elected to repeat as Partners in 2019.  We look forward to continuing this engaging activity.

Listed below are the excursions for 2019.  We know you’ll enjoy these unique experiences.

Biltmore Estate Tour & Dinner

We will begin this Explore Asheville event at the luxurious family home of George and Edith Vanderbilt the Biltmore House.  You will enjoy a private 1 ½ hour tour of this marvel of elegance and charm, as magnificent today as it was more than a century ago.  This tour does require that you are able to walk up and down stairs.  After the house tour we will enjoy dinner together at The Bistro located in Antler Hill Village & Winery.  This restaurant features seasonal farm to table fare.

Trolley Tour & Rhubarb Dinner

Hosted by GuideStone Funds, this excursion features a private sightseeing tour of Asheville. Our group will enjoy narration highlighting the architecture, history,

and cultural arts of this iconic city. Our journey will take us through the vibrant city center, into the heart of Biltmore Village, and along the celebrated Rivers Arts District. Finally, the nostalgic trolley will carry us to Pack Square where we have dinner reservations at Rhubarb—offering farm to table New American fare.

Breakout Asheville

Timothy Plan has planned an evening of puzzling entertainment, teamwork and an experience of the local fare. We invite you to join us in adventure as we will attempt to conquer Asheville’s highest reviewed escape rooms (thank you Yelp) – Breakout Games Asheville.  For those of us who do escape, the real thrill starts at dinner, where we will dine in one of Asheville’s favorite restaurants – Chestnut Asheville. Having the audacity to change their menu monthly, Chestnut Asheville will keep you from being able to choose your outing based on menus too far in advance. Admittedly, it does beg the question how reviewers rate “everything on the menu” as delicious.  If you do not enjoy puzzles, strategy, awesome company or laughter, this may be the wrong outing for you.
